Space, ride comfort, value, feels more expensive than it is.
Overlight steering at speed, a little stodgy to drive, underpowered economy-price engines best avoided.
This roomy Czech-built supermini is great value for money without being cheap and nasty.

The Fabia moves with suppleness over bumps, but stays stable and firm in corners. Noise levels are low (the TDI is noisiest) and, for a small car, it's a relaxing mode of travel. The top two trims come with air-conditioning, electric windows, central locking and more, while the Elegance includes heated washer nozzles and seats.
The high-waisted Fabia looks smaller than it is, but it's actually one of the roomiest of superminis. Its height allows people to sit upright, which leaves room for a generous boot in the short tail. Cabin storage includes four cup-holders and, depending on model, an under-seat drawer, a net under the rear shelf and pockets in the front seat-backs. The estate almost feels like a car from the Golf size class, and its extra rear overhang gives it plenty of luggage capacity. Skoda's own neatly-integrated stereo is easy to use, sounds good and features RDS.
