Skoda Fabia (2000-2007) Review

Category: Superminis 3.5 out of 5

Summary of the Skoda Fabia (2000-2007)

Price Range: £8,950 to £13,730

Assets

Space, ride comfort, value, feels more expensive than it is.

Drawbacks

Overlight steering at speed, a little stodgy to drive, underpowered economy-price engines best avoided.

Verdict

This roomy Czech-built supermini is great value for money without being cheap and nasty.

Skoda Fabia Review

Safety and Security4 out of 5

The Fabia has scored four stars in the Euro NCAP crash tests, and has a sturdy, solid Germanic build. Driver, passenger and side airbags are now standard, as are ABS brakes. There are newer superminis which have scored better in the NCAP tests now, and cars that can be kitted up with curtain and window airbags, but the Fabia should protect its occupants well. Security-wise, there's an immobilizer, and deadlocks on the doors. Elegance and vRS versions have an alarm.
