Skoda Fabia Greenline (2008-) Review

Category: Superminis 2 out of 5

Summary of the Skoda Fabia Greenline (2008-)

Price Range: £8,950 to £13,730

Assets

Some of the lowest running costs in the business, good ride.

Drawbacks

Longer gearing compromises drive, poor level of equipment, unrefined engine.

Verdict

Greenline economy package spoils a fine supermini.

Skoda Fabia Review

Safety and Security2 out of 5

The estate version of the Fabia has yet to be entered into the voluntary Euro NCAP crash tests, but based on the five-door hatch's four-star performance we don't expect the Estate to receive the maximum five stars.

Standard safety equipment includes four airbags, with curtain bags still a £200 option.

Deduct points for the Greenline trim not having ESP as standard. Strangely, the cheaper Fabia '2' trim has it, but for the Greenline it costs £340 extra.

An alarm and immobiliser is also another extra, costing £260.
