Skoda Fabia (2007-) Review

Category: Superminis 4 out of 5

Summary of the Skoda Fabia (2007-)

Price Range: £8,950 to £13,730

Assets

Roomy, quality product, looks good with square-cut styling and a solid stance, good fun to drive especially with the smaller engines.

Drawbacks

Ride is too firm with larger wheel option, steering is low-geared.

Verdict

An engaging and practical new supermini with character.

Skoda Fabia Review

Reliability and Quality5 out of 5

Here's Volkswagen quality at a lower price, which seems like a very good deal. The Fabia is a bit short of plushly padded surfaces, facia top excepted, but the hard plastics elsewhere are impeccably moulded, finished and assembled. The seat, door-trim and headlining fabrics are tasteful and feel expensively durable, too. The paint is excellent, with proper gloss lacquer around the tailgate aperture, the panel gaps are laser-accurate and the Fabia feels unbreakably solid and rattle-free. Most of the mechanical and electrical parts are already used in other VW Group products, so they are likely to be reliable and durable.
