Accomplished car but not as sporty as it looks. No problem; check out the value it offers instead!

Aside from the kerfuffle about head restraints which don't protect against whiplash, the Leon is a pretty safe motor car. It hasn't been tested by NCAP, but we've no reason to believe it'll score less than the Golf's four stars, due to standard front and side airbags, ISOFIX child seat mountings and pretensioned front seatbelts. ABS is also standard across the range, while SE and Cupra models also enjoy standard traction control. There's an alarm on all SE and Cupra models too, though all cars feature locking wheel bolts for the standard alloy wheels. And the use of Volkswagen locks means they shouldn't be easily-picked.
