Robustness of an Audi for Seat money; strong diesel engines; smooth ride.
Offers nothing new; looks bland; competent but uninspiring drive.
If you can look beyond the Seat badge, the Exeo ST drives like a premium estate.

The common rail diesel models that will make up the bulk of Exeo ST sales are impressively frugal. Our pick of the powertrains - the 141bhp 2.0-litre TDI - returns 49.5mpg and emits 149g/km of CO2. Good for a car of this bulk.
It also means that company car customers, who may be attracted to the Seat brand for the first time by the Exeo ST, will pay benefit-in-kind tax at a rate of 21%. Road tax is also relatively low if you opt for a diesel - the Exeo squeezes into Band F, so a tax disc will currently cost £125 per year.
Things change if you go for the petrol, of course. You'll get plenty of performance, but pay the price in company car, road tax, fuel bills and a higher insurance grouping.
Servicing intervals are 20,000 miles, with an oil change every 10,000 miles. If you do less than 10,000 miles a year, you'll need an inspection service, which includes oil change, every 12 months.
Insurance groups for the Exeo range from 12 for most models, to 14 for the Sport 2.0 TSI.
