Robustness of an Audi for Seat money; strong diesel engines; smooth ride.
Offers nothing new; looks bland; competent but uninspiring drive.
If you can look beyond the Seat badge, the Exeo ST drives like a premium estate.

Because the Exeo ST used to be an Audi A4 Avant, there's already good intel on how it copes with everyday life.
Impressively, the A4 scored four out of five for quality and reliability in JD Power consumer surveys when it was launched in 2005. We see no reason why the Exeo ST shouldn't achieve similar results.
Seat does less well as a brand. It's currently rated 21st out of 28 car manufacturers in consumer quality surveys. To be fair, this is a problem the Spanish carmaker is trying to address - adopting Audi tooling and build techniques at the factory where the Exeo is made is just the start, they promise.
For what it's worth, our test car's fit and finish was of a high standard, which encourages us to trust in the record of the old Audi A4 Avant rather than worry about Seat's reputation.
