In 9-3 guise (this model was previously badged 900 and has been around for quite some years) Saab's smallest can no longer match the class best.
Saabs invariably score above average here, and the 9-3 gets four stars in NCAP tests. Insurance surveys in the US also find that Saab owners make fewer claims for injury after accidents, which is encouraging. Thief-proofing is less comprehensive, however.
