Renault Twingo RenaultSport (2008-) Review

Category: Affordable Sports 4 out of 5

Summary of the Renault Twingo RenaultSport (2008-)

Price Range: £12,145 to £12,145

Assets

Sharp drive with Cup chassis, good ride without.

Drawbacks

Needs pricey but entertaining Cup chassis.

Verdict

Misses out on the charm of Fiat's 500 Abarth, but delivers with Cup's drive.

Renault Twingo Review

Reliability and Quality3 out of 5

Frustratingly, it's still too early for the Twingo to star in surveys into reliability and satisfaction - frustrating, because the French marque has gone to great lengths to tell us that the brand is performing well in its own internal surveys and that Renault cars are now some of the most reliable on the road.

Renault as a brand has performed well below average in the latest JD Power for customer satisfaction, ranking joint 22nd along with Land Rover. In that particular survey it was poor dealers, not reliability, to blame for the poor overall rating.

Inside, our near-£12,000 Twingo was rattle-free but was still plagued with hard unpleasant-feeling plastic that wouldn't look out of place in a van. At least all seemed well built and simple to use.
