Renault Twingo 1.2 16v (2008-) Review

Category: City Cars 4 out of 5

Summary of the Renault Twingo 1.2 16v (2008-)

Price Range: £9,085 to £10,935

Assets

Good handling, versatile cabin, fine ride.

Drawbacks

Unenthusiastic engine, vague steering, only seats four.

Verdict

Cheerful, but not very cheap, Twingo is let down by a lacklustre engine and hefty price tag.

Renault Twingo Review

Comfort and Equipment3 out of 5

Here again the Renault struggles, not least against city cars priced similarly high.

The Dynamique standard equipment runs to 15" alloy wheels, two sliding individual rear seats, a cheekily-mounted rev counter on the steering column and remote central locking.

Adding aircon costs £525, worse still £800 if you want climate control. The customising body stripes, meanwhile, cost £80. As far as comfort goes the Twingo can boast a big-car ride that is surprisingly cosseting but the Twingo can only carry four.
