Renault Scenic Review

Safety and Security5 out of 5

Renault rules when it comes to making safe cars. The larger seven-seat version of the Renault Scenic scored the full 37 points to give it a five star rating for adult occupancy protection.

There are six airbags: adaptive front airbags (airbags that mould to the body of the occupants), thorax airbags and curtain airbags. Then there's energy absorbing headrests, Isofix child-seat fittings, ABS, emergency brake assist and stability control with understeer control.

To help improve safety even further than the Euro NCAP laboratory tests the firm has carried out extensive research into real-life accidents to see how its cars cope in the real world.

An alarm and immobiliser are standard.
