Efficient engines, more upmarket cabin, competitively priced.
Bland looks, dull drive, not as spacious as some rivals.
A competent family car with frugal diesel engines, but it's pretty uninspiring and certainly not a class leader.

The least expensive model is the 1.5-litre dCi diesel, which is available with 85bhp or 104bhp. It'll better 60mpg and has sub-120g/km CO2 emissions, but both versions are really short on shove, particularly for those who travel on the motorway often. Both do fall into the lowest 13% benefit-in-kind company car tax bracket, though.
The bigger and much more powerful 2.0-litre dCi diesel, with 155bhp on tap, returns 47.9mpg and only has emissions of 155g/km CO2, which makes it slightly more expensive to tax, but worth it for the performance gains.
Meanwhile, the most efficient petrol model is the entry-level 1.6-litre, which returns 42.2mpg.
