Summary of the Renault Megane Sport Tourer (2009-)

Price Range: No data available

Assets

Efficient engines, more upmarket cabin, competitively priced.

Drawbacks

Bland looks, dull drive, not as spacious as some rivals.

Verdict

A competent family car with frugal diesel engines, but it's pretty uninspiring and certainly not a class leader.

Renault Megane Sport Tourer Review

Safety and Security5 out of 5

The Megane Estate is one of the safest vehicles in its class and scored the maximum possible score in EuroNCAP tests for occupant safety.

It's got eight airbags plus two further airbags fitted within the front seats, which stop the passenger and driver sliding under their seatbelts (a nasty phenomenon called submarining) in an impact. Pedestrian impact protection has also been enhanced with a more energy-absorbent bonnet, bumpers and wings.

There's a Thacham category one alarm fitted as standard too.
