Poor practicality for a hatchback, lack of radio and soundproofing make Megane tiring over long distances.
Raw and uncompromised R26.R will be too much for most. Shame, because it's one of the finest hot hatches to have ever turned a wheel in anger.
The rest of the Megane range returns between 34-43% of the original money paid for it three years and 36,000 miles down the line, but we expect the R26.R to far outperform the rest of the range.
Only 450 will be made ensuring the R26.R will enjoy a cult following. This, we think, will protect its resale value.
