Koleos' bizarre looks overshadow what is a capable off-roader.
We expected better from the Koleos. Even the 2WD 148bhp lower-end diesel model fails to be competitive against new models like the Ford Kuga. The Renault averages a poor 39.2mpg and emits 191g/km of carbon dioxide. The Kuga emits just 169g/km. The higher powered Koleos emits 221g/km of carbon dioxide and both engines fall into the Band F for road tax.
Disappointing, and especially relevant because 4x4s are generally considered to be the automotive equivalent of the anti-Christ and, really, up-to-date SUVs should do a lot better to convince the 4x4 haters that they are, in fact, no worse than normal saloons.
