Renault Clio RenaultSport Review

Reliability and Quality2 out of 5

It's difficult to be more generous here. Although there's outwardly nothing to fear from the reliability of the Clio V6, it's worth remembering that this is a largely hand-built niche sports car, and so not subject to the millions of miles of development and rigorous testing that the standard Clio has endured. We drove early models, but some of our test cars also had the odd squeak and rattle. Some dealers might have a quick intake of breath when thinking about servicing or fault rectification, too, so it's worth finding one which specialises in them. Also, given the price, we'd expect something a little classier than standard Clio's trim inside. You can specify leather seats, but they're an (expensive) option.
