Previous-generation Clios have had an awful track record in reliability and satisfaction surveys, earning an unfortunate reputation thanks to numerous electrical and mechanical issues.
The third-generation Clio seems to be reversing this trend, though, with far greater levels of owner satisfaction.
With regard to quality, there are two ways to look at the Cup: it's either cheap and nasty or it's been designed, developed and manufactured with the single purpose of saving weight and improving performance. For us, it's the latter, with Renault being perfectly justified in dropping the likes of the regular car's softer-touch plastic dash covering and higher-quality finish.
