Ride is too firm, and it's hard to come to terms with a Porsche-badged 4x4
The most controversial Porsche ever brings two worlds into collision, but without destroying either of them.

A very stiff body shell, whose 'crash structure' - all the load-bearing underskin elements - is the same as the new Volkswagen Touareg's, is the starting point for the Cayenne's crashworthiness. Three levels of impact-absorbing structure at the front ensure that the Cayenne is 'friendly' to another vehicle it may hit, be it a low sports car or another tall SUV. Curtain airbags protect both front and rear passengers, in addition to the front and side airbags for front occupants. Isofix child seat mountings are standard, including for the front passenger seat (if used, you can switch off the adjacent airbag). All seatbelts except the middle rear one (which is still a three-point belt) have pretensioners. Keyless entry is optional, with proximity sensors to allow you to open a door and start the engine even though the keycard is still in your pocket. An alarm is standard.
