Porsche image and engineering, fine on-road behaviour, surprising off-road ability.
Not as exciting or economical as you'd like - and is an Audi-engined SUV really a Porsche?
A well-engineered, quality product, though the world doesn't really need it.

Second-hand values of the Cayenne are not as strong as they used to be - despite the Porsche badge - as buyers are increasingly turning away from ostentatious large SUVs and gas-guzzlers, but you can still expect around 45-52% of your money back after three years/36,000 miles.
There are plenty of early petrol models around now for less than £15,000, and three-year old, low-mileage examples at under £25,000. This diesel should be reasonably desirable second-hand, however, and should hold its value better than the thirsty petrol V8s.
It is also a viably useful towing vehicle so expect to see a fair few pulling boat-trailers and horseboxes in coming years, if not caravans - the ultimate indignity, perhaps, for a Porsche.
