Impressive on-road performance, exemplary body control with the PDCC system, fantastic engines.
Expensive, thirsty - and not exactly kind to the environment.
An improvement on the original, but will still be hated by many.

The Cayenne is very much oriented towards the sporty driver - so those looking for a supple, cosseting ride should look elsewhere. Even with the optional air suspension stuck on the Comfort setting, you still feel every bump and rut in the road surface. When you're in the mood for it, switching to Sport and lowering the suspension gives the Cayenne exemplary road behaviour, although even with the levelling PDCC system activated, you and your passengers will still rock around the cabin.
All five passengers benefit from excellent head, elbow and knee room. Wind noise is apparent in models fitted with roof bars and engine noise on all Cayennes: however, in the V8 particularly, this is something to be savoured.
Bootspace is a good 540 litres with the rear row in place, rising to 1,770 if they're folded away.
As standard, all Cayennes are fitted with air conditioning, electric windows, a 12-speaker CD radio and cruise control. Leather adorns the seats, steering wheel, door handles, gearshift gaiter, arm rests and grab handles. A panoramic opening sunroof is an optional extra.
Countless other pieces of equipment are optionally available, including full-colour sat-nav, Bose stereo upgrade, rear-seat DVD system, phones, etc. It's worth noting that all Cayennes come with essentially the same kit (the Turbo has air suspension as standard); it's just the engines that differ.
