Impressive on-road performance, exemplary body control with the PDCC system, fantastic engines.
Expensive, thirsty - and not exactly kind to the environment.
An improvement on the original, but will still be hated by many.

The Cayenne has never been subjected to a EuroNCAP crash test, but the closely related Volkswagen Touareg received the full five stars for occupant protection, four out of five for child protection, but a disappointing one out of four for pedestrian protection.
Six airbags are fitted as standard, two at the front, two side airbags and two full-length curtain airbags, which cover both rows of seats. The Cayenne now features rollover sensors and activates airbags and tightens the seat belts as required. All five passengers get a three-point seat belt, Isofix mounting points are set within the outer rear seats and the front passenger airbag can be deactivated to allow a rear-facing baby seat to be fitted.
ABS anti-lock brakes and a plethora of active and passive safety items are fitted as standard, including Porsche Stability Management, which improves braking response and performance, and can reduce sidesway when towing.
An alarm and immobiliser are fitted to all models, with the Turbo benefiting from a Tracker system as standard - optional on the Cayenne and Cayenne S.
