Impressive on-road performance, exemplary body control with the PDCC system, fantastic engines.
Expensive, thirsty - and not exactly kind to the environment.
An improvement on the original, but will still be hated by many.

Porsche first announced that it was building an SUV in 1998: it's had to answer its critics ever since. Thankfully for Porsche, it has been a resounding success, with over 150,000 sold in the four years since the 2002 launch (the company estimated it would sell 80,000).
In 2007 a restyled and reengineered Porsche hits the road - although to many it is still one of the ugliest cars on sale. Three engines are offered at launch ranging from a 290bhp V6, to a 500bhp twin-turbo V8. It's likely that a new version of the Turbo S may join the range further down the line, as will a hybrid version - a joint development between Porsche, Audi and Volkswagen.
The Porsche is a full-on off-roader, with a 4x4 system that can send 100% of the engine's power in any mix between the front and rear axles. A low-range gearbox is standard.
Price ranges from £37,100 for the V6 Cayenne, to the frankly absurd £74,650 for the Turbo.
