Porsche spent a lot of cash on this second-generation Boxster and it shows. Why spend another £30K on a 911?
Porsche has declared that it views the Boxster as being a 'timeless' design much the way the 911 is. This means that owners won't get any nasty surprises in the way of dramatic facelifts and changes to the fundamental look of the car. And this in turn will do marvellous things for the Boxster's residual value, which is much more of a concern for a car at this price level. In fact, the Boxster is currently outperforming the already impressive 911 in this respect, so new owners can expect outstanding residuals. Porsche also claims to have reduced ownership costs by increasing oil change intervals and using other consumables such as air filters with much longer service lives. For company car drivers, though, the Boxster occupies the top CO2 band, with 248g/km.
