Electrifying pace combined with easy driveability, exciting but safe handling, great sound, terrific quality, iconic looks.
Overstyled interior, poor luggage space, clonks in Carrera 4's transmission.
After 38 years, the 911 idea just gets better and better. The most usable supercar of all.

Slightly softer suspension has greatly improved the ride comfort over poor surfaces, so this latest 911 is sportingly taut without ever turning uncomfortable. Unwanted noises are well suppressed, leaving the soundscape clear for the engine's stirring tunes. The seats are electrically multi-adjustable, and hold you firmly. Today's 911s are water-cooled, and the automatic heating and air-conditioning system works well. The cabriolet's wind-deflector works well, but using it means that you can't carry rear passengers. For a sports car, the 911 is quite spacious. The folding rear seats are big enough for small children, and there's ample head and legroom for front occupants. There's now a facia glovebox, while a tray by the passenger's seat (not by the driver's) can hold a phone and sunglasses. Luggage space under the sloping bonnet is meagre, especially in the Carrera 4, whose higher floor covers the front transmission. Standard fitment is a Bose sound system with a CD stacker, 11 speakers (including three sub-woofers) and a total of six amplifiers. There's also a cassette slot. Full-screen sat-nav is optional.
