Phenomenal performance, staggeringly good brakes, surprisingly comfortable considering it's a near 200 mph supercar
Lack of traction control combined with rear-wheel drive and 462 bhp means the GT2 demands total concentration at all times
The quickest, most powerful 911 to date is a wild, wild ride, with performance that's easily accessed and unforgettable

One version, costing £114,000 (approx)
The twin-turbo, rear-wheel-drive GT2 is the fastest, most powerful 911 road car yet built: it has 462 bhp, a top speed of 196 mph, and will reach 100 mph from standstill in 8.5 sec. Offering race-car levels of performance and dynamic prowess, yet civilised enough to cruise continents, it plays both roles with considerable style.
The previous-generation GT2 was almost pure racer (and consequently a bit uncompromising for road use) and some diehard Porsche fans will complain that the new one therefore betrays the badge. But in terms of pure exhilaration, few could argue that the new GT2 is lacking in any respect.
Despite the ease with which the GT2 can be driven in certain circumstances, its rear-wheel-drive format (which eschews traction control or any other type of electronic driver aid) means great care is needed to prevent the rear end from shooting all over the place under power, especially in the wet. It can be a very scary car. If that's a problem, then the less powerful (yet still awesome) four-wheel-drive Turbo could be the 911 for you. But if you're seeking the ultimate, the GT2 won't disappoint.
