Practicality, performance, PDK transmission, sublime handling.
Familiar looks, interior's lack of occasion, needs proper paddles.
Latest generation 911 is the finest, greenest supercar money can buy.

The Porsche 911 is the template for a modern supercar. Ignore the group 20 insurance and consider the standard Carrera's ability to average an unprecedented 29.4mpg, while emitting 225g/km of carbon dioxide. This means the Porsche's running costs are not far off a petrol-powered repmobile, or medium-sized luxury saloon - and all from a car that sprints to 62mph in 4.9 seconds and hits 178mph. It even misses out on the maximum VED band G.
Upgrade to the Carrera S and the PDK version still averages a fine 27.7mpg. These economy figures are unchartered territory for this level of performance. The competition will struggle to cope.
