Low price.
Everything else.
Adequate for agricultural use, otherwise appalling.

Double-cab pick-ups are increasingly popular, because of their ability to work during the week, and be put to recreational use at weekends. Seating five, and with a good load-bay, most make acceptable family transport, even if they're a little less refined than regular off-roaders.
Well, the Tata TL4 is not just a little less refined; it's completely unrefined. In fact, it's one of the worst cars we've driven, and so we can't recommended it if you're after a vehicle that can fulfil the demands of both work and pleasure use. Come to think of it, we'd barely even recommend it for work use. It's that awful.
Incidentally, the Tata's price in no way redresses its basic flaws. Its rivals at the lower end of the pick-up price scale - Ford Ranger, Isuzu TF et al - thoroughly out-point it for just a grand or so more investment.
