Assets

Verdict

A lot less van-like than the 806, and much more pleasant to drive and ride in

Peugeot 807 Review

Overview4 out of 5

Crowd pleaser

The 807 is larger, roomier, more attractive and more user-friendly than the van-like 806 it replaces; like its sister models, the Citroen C8, Fiat Ulysse and Lancia Phedra (the latter is not sold in the UK), it has a much stiffer structure, revised suspension and much-improved cabin. The use of some plastic composite body panels helps to keep the 807's weight down, and it is a lot more enjoyable to drive and easier to manoeuvre than its predecessor. The four very similar big MPVs also look a little more distinctive this time around, though under the surface, they are ostensibly identical. The 807 seats up to eight people, and has - unbelievably - 'up to 58' storage areas within the cabin, as well as generous luggage-carrying capacity. Two petrol engines - 2.0-litre, 138bhp and 2.2-litre, 160bhp four-cylinder units - and two diesels - 2.0-litre, 109bhp and 2.2-litre, 130bhp - are offered, though the majority of buyers are expected to opt for the 2.2 HDI diesel.
