Peugeot 308 Review

Reliability and Quality3.5 out of 5

The 307's reliability left a lot to be desired, and like many Peugeots of the past decade it lacked the solidity and classy feel that's increasingly being expected of small family cars. You don't have to drive a Golf to experience that premium feel - the Ford Focus, Vauxhall Astra, Honda Civic and Nissan Note all have it.

Only time will tell whether the 308 is actually more durable than the 307, but it definitely feels well made. We've driven four different 308s, and they were all free from rattles, shakes and self-destructive tendencies.

The cabin has a much more upmarket feel, even lower-specification versions. The plastics are soft, and only good-quality leather and carpet are used.
