Stylish design, excellent handling characteristics, strong diesels, EuroNCAP results.
Non-turbo petrols not as sprightly as they could be, could be issues over electrics.
The 207 brings Peugeot back to the forefront of the supermini sector with a healthy dash of Gallic flair.

Drivers with experience of the 206 will rejoice when they learn that the 207 has a steering wheel that adjusts for rake and reach. Even better, there's height adjustment for driver and front passenger seats. The cramped pedal box that blighted the 206 remains in the 207 - although not so pronounced - drivers with big feet better get those ballet pumps at the ready.
The seats hold you in place well and prove comfortable even after a long journey. Ride comfort is good, and oddly enough, better on cars fitted with the large 17-inch alloys than those on smaller wheels.
There's plenty of head, shoulder and knee room afforded to all passengers - although anyone riding in the back behind a long-legged driver will feel a little hemmed in.
Oddment storage is abundant all around the cabin, including a little shelf above the glovebox (air-conditioned on some models) that's perfect for a mobile phone or loose change.
Bootspace is good at 310 litres of volume available under the parcel shelf. This swells to a substantial 1195 litres when the 60/40 split rear seats are folded flat. If you wish to, the rear seats can be removed completely, which liberates a little extra space.
A CD player is standard on all models with a five-CD autochanger available as an option. A Bluetooth phone kit, colour-screen sat-nav and an eight-speaker JBL sound system all feature on the options list.
Standard kit for the Urban entry-level model includes four airbags, electric front windows, headrests front and rear and ABS with EBFD. S trim adds air-conditioning, electric mirrors, curtain airbags and white instrument dials. SE (5dr only) gains a panoramic glass roof, inbuilt air-freshener, black dials and 15-inch alloy wheels. Sport models boast 16-inch alloys (15-inch on 1.4 petrol), chrome exhaust trim, sports seats, chrome-ringed front fogs, leather trimmed steering wheel and gearstick and white dials. Top trim GT gains 17-inch alloys, ESP, dual-zone climate control, aluminium pedals and gearknob, black leather trim, white dials and an alarm.
