Category: Superminis 4.5 out of 5

Summary of the Peugeot 207 (2006-)

Price Range: £10,495 to £15,695

Assets

Stylish design, excellent handling characteristics, strong diesels, EuroNCAP results.

Drawbacks

Non-turbo petrols not as sprightly as they could be, could be issues over electrics.

Verdict

The 207 brings Peugeot back to the forefront of the supermini sector with a healthy dash of Gallic flair.

Peugeot 207 Review

Safety and Security5 out of 5

The 207 scores a full five stars in the EuroNCAP crash test for occupant protection, with an excellent four stars for child protection and three stars for pedestrian protection. These are better overall scores than for the new Clio, Yaris or Punto.

Front and side airbags are fitted to all 207s with curtain airbags also fitted to all bar the entry-level Urban model. Five three-point seat belts are fitted and the two outer rear seats have ISOFIX mountings for child seats. The front passenger airbag can be disconnected to allow a rear-facing child seat to be fitted.

ABS anti-lock brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution (EBFD) are fitted, with 1.6-litre models having disc brakes all round (front discs and rear drums on 1.4 models).

Automatic door-locking is standard as is remote central locking and an immobiliser. GT models gain a Thatcham Category 1 alarm - optional on all other trims bar Urban.
