Good-looking, looks better-built than 206 CC, a decently sporting drive
No super-quick version on offer, rear seats still useless
The 207 CC's less toy-like than the 206 CC: it feels and drives like a proper car. Less cutesy and girlie, too.

Roof up, a hard-top is always going to offer more protection in the event of a crash or rollover than a canvas hood. Roof-down, there are two pyrotechnically deployable rollover hoops, as well as that solid structure, much of which is shared with the 207 hatchback - a car that scored five stars in the Euro NCAP crash tests.
Standard equipment includes two front and two chest-protecting airbags, a steering wheel-mounted airbag which protects the driver's lower limbs, and Isofix child seat mounting points; the two rear seats (such as they are) have three-point seatbelts.
Like the hatch, the 207 CC has achieved an impressive five-star rating for adult occupant safety in the Euro NCAP crash tests, with two stars (out of four) for pedestrian protection. Child safety could not be tested since there was not enough space to fit an approved child restraint system without moving the passenger seat forward, compromising safety.
GT-spec models add ESP (electronic stability control) and directional headlights for extra illumination round bends, as well as rear parking sensors to help prevent minor scrapes and knocks.
Security-wise, the GT model has a Thatcham Category 1 alarm, and all versions have deadlocks; that roof offers more protection against thieves and vandals than a canvas hood, too.
