Category: Pick-ups
Price Range: £19,245 to £26,795
Chunky styling, loads of torque, towing ability, adept off-road
Impractical around town, if you need to go there, overdone styling
It's a good compromise between a family 4x4 and a working vehicle, although it does seem a shame to get it dirty

The Navara isn't quite as cheap to run as some rivals - Mitsubishi L200, Ford Ranger - but doesn't do too badly, with 30-plus mpg and reasonable Nissan parts and servicing. Tough trucks like this make good second-hand purchases, and whilst they're still not cheap, secondhand values will ease up once the all-new 2005/2006 models are more widely available. Remaining PickUps available new are cheaper since the launch of the new-gen Navara, and are great value for VAT-registered buyers.
