Price Range: £14,200 to £23,800
Decent kit levels, agile drive.
Expensive, impaired economy, confused styling, limited versatility, doesn't offer much new.
An unconventional looking family hatch that's actually pretty conventional.

Economy figures for all engines are respectable if not groundbreaking. Regular hatchbacks are better in this respect; SUVs worse. The most frugal is the 1.5-litre diesel, which returns 52.3mpg on the combined cycle. This is followed by the 1.6-litre petrol with 42.2mpg, the 2.0-litre diesel with an estimated 40.9mpg and finally the 2.0-litre petrol, which returns 34.4mpg. Four-wheel drive and automatic versions suffer a little in the economy stakes.
CO2 emissions range from 145g/km for the 1.5-litre diesel to 204g/km for the 2.0-litre petrol 4wd. Although it doesn't affect company car tax values or emissions legislation just yet, the 2.0-litre diesel is fitted as standard with a diesel particulate filter, which traps and incinerates harmful diesel deposits from the exhaust system.
Servicing is at 12,500-mile intervals.
