The Nissan Qashqai achieved the full five stars for adult occupant safety in Euro NCAP crach tests. It even recorded the highest ever score for front and side impact. An impressive four-star rating was awarded for child safety and two stars, out of a possible four, given for pedestrian protection.

All versions come complete with six airbags as standard and ESP stability control as standard.

All three rear-seat passenger get a three-point seat belt, and two Isofix mounting points are set within the rear bench.

An engine immobiliser is standard on all models and an alarm is fitted to all models except the diesel and 1.6-litre entry-level Visia versions. Nissan's Intelligent Key is fitted to top spec Tekna versions, allowing you to keep the key in your pocket when unlocking and starting the car. The key also saves your personal settings adjusting the driver's seat and mirrors to your preferred position.
