Summary of the Nissan Qashqai+2 (2008-)

Price Range: £15,600 to £24,700

Fine drive, added space.

Drawbacks

Seats only useful for occasional use, hefty premium over already pricey five-seat.

Verdict

Worth considering for those who occasionally carry more than five and are thoroughly bored with the MPV way of thinking.

Residuals have yet been set by the experts, but when you consider the good build quality and broader appeal of the long wheelbase car's added space and ability to carry seven at a push there's no reason why the +2 shouldn't be able to ape the fine values commanded by the rest of the Nissan Qashqai range.

Come resale time, residual experts forecast the five-seat Qashqai will retain values between 43-46%, with a 1.6 Visia returning up to 46% of its original worth three years or 60,000 miles down the line, compared with 47% for a Volkswagen Golf 1.6 FSI.
