Hard-working, huge load bed, spacious cabin, scads of equipment, plenty of power, good value.
Too vast for some, awful turning circle, not as tight to drive as rivals.
Best for space, power, presence and equipment, but the Mitsubishi L200 is more wieldy and better to drive.

There isn't the same level of sophisticated safety equipment in a truck like this as in a passenger 4x4; only twin front airbags come as standard.
Side and curtain airbags only arrive in the top-spec Aventura and active head restraints aren't available in the bottom-spec model. However you get Isofix child seat anchors across the board.
ABS is about it for active-safety driver aids, however. No electronic assistance like stability control, traction control, anti-skid regulation, etc. Only the L200 bucks this trend to offer traction control in the higher spec models.
Keyless entry with super-locking, an alarm and immobiliser is standard, as is a lock for the tailgate. The Navara is the only pick-up to get this for free and it strengthens the otherwise shaky security when you've got a hardtop attached.
