Nissan 370Z Review

Safety and Security4 out of 5

As a model and with plenty of poke under the bonnet, it's no surprise that safety has been subject to some heavyweight box ticking. Dual-stage front airbags, seat mounted side-impact and curtain airbags protect driver and passenger, as do active head restraints.

The steering column is design to absorb impact as are the doors, which feature inbuilt guard beams. traction control is standard equipment, although the system is now fully switchable following complaints from track driving owners of the previous-generation model.

Nissan's intelligent Key system is standard along with an alarm, immobiliser and automatic door-locking. Clearly, that's a bonus, but the lack of any kind of cover to protect the items in the boot from prying eyes and sticky fingers is more of a concern. Up front, there's covered storage in the shape of the glovebox and between the seats, but little potential for securely stowing larger items.
