Category: City Cars 3 out of 5

Summary of the Mitsubishi i -MiEV (2009-)

Price Range: £9,149 to £9,149

Assets

Planet friendly, cheap to run.

Drawbacks

Interior looks cheap, range fluctuates, seats feel flimsy and unsupportive, expensive lease.

Verdict

A real electric car that's great for the city and kind to your bank balance.

Mitsubishi i Review

Comfort and Equipment3 out of 5

Engine noise isn't a problem, as you'd expect. Whistling along with only the electric motor whine and some road and wind noise for company is rather relaxing.

The ride is on the firm side and is better than the petrol-driven i. That's just as well because the flimsy unsupportive seats don't make long journeys a pleasure. Rear bench passengers have even less to write home about, even if the passenger compartment is astonishingly roomy.

It's well-equipped, although it plays on your mind that using the electric windows and mirrors, heating and sound system is drawing precious charge from the battery.
