Summary of the Mitsubishi i -MiEV (2009-)

Price Range: £9,149 to £9,149

Assets

Planet friendly, cheap to run.

Drawbacks

Interior looks cheap, range fluctuates, seats feel flimsy and unsupportive, expensive lease.

Verdict

A real electric car that's great for the city and kind to your bank balance.

Mitsubishi i Review

Running Costs4 out of 5

Mitsubishi can't yet say how much a service will cost but with fewer moving parts than the conventional model the firm claims visits to its authorised dealers for services should be fewer and farther between.

It'll also be cheaper to run. Zero tailpipe emissions mean VED will be free and a seven-hour mains charge should get the battery from flat to full for 45 pence.

But it's not all pocket money: £750 a month to lease isn't exactly cheap.
