Category: Hot Hatchbacks
Price Range: £7,999 to £12,849
Punchy engine, decent kit levels, sharp handling, cheap warranty package.
Overly firm ride, uninspiring cabin, poor steering.
May attract a few hardcore Mitsubishi fans but there are better hot-hatches at this price.

You are not going to feel special when you climb inside the Colt Ralliart. Apart from the more supportive sports seats there's little to distinguish it from a standard model. It's all a bit plasticky and uninspiring.
The fit and finish isn't wonderful and the test car we drove yielded a few creaks and rattles. It just didn't feel particularly robust.
Japanese manufacturers are usually regarded as builders of bulletproof cars, but Mitsubishi has performed badly in recent surveys. In the 2008 JD Power customer satisfaction survey, Mitsubishi finished 27th out of 28 in the manufacturers league table.
The previous-generation Colt got more favourable response from owners, finishing 51st out of 100 models in the survey. Since this new model is based on the same platform and has many similar features, the quality is unlikely to improve.
