Neat, sharp and confident looks, versatile cabin, roomy and comfortable, fun to drive, good value.
Thick windscreen pillars, and that's about it.
Comes straight in near the top of the supermini tree.

The Colt is put together as you would expect from a car made to Japanese quality standards in a refurbished factory and oddly, it feels better screwed-together than the Forfour and its cabin is finished with less cheap-feeling plastics. The Colt hits the mark with pleasing, honest materials and no fake leathergrain - the dashboard's soft-touch surface instead has a dot-grid pattern.
As for the reliability of the key mechanical components, the petrol engines are new joint-venture units made in eastern Germany and featuring chain drive instead of belt drive for their camshafts though the CZT's turbo engine is made in Japan. The diesels are essentially three-quarters of the Mercedes A-Class diesel engines - which sounds odd, but is effective.
