Reliability, durability, ease of ownership
Small, bland and not particularly cheap
Never a bargain new, the now-discontinued 1996-2004 Colt looks better value secondhand, though it's not particularly roomy, nor especially comfortable.

The steering is light, the driving position is good, and it's very easy to park and run around town in. The Colt is very user-friendly and doesn't demand much from the driver at all, especially with the slick auto gearbox. A relaxing drive, even for people who don't like driving. The steering is light and accurate, the roadholding adequate, the car responsive as a whole, but in the end it isn't very engaging for the keen driver.
The engines are quite willing, especially the 1.6, and they're fairly smooth and quiet too. Both the 1.3 and 1.6 are pleasant on the motorway.
