Reliability, durability, ease of ownership
Small, bland and not particularly cheap
Never a bargain new, the now-discontinued 1996-2004 Colt looks better value secondhand, though it's not particularly roomy, nor especially comfortable.

There are plenty of first-generation survivors, so this fifth-series Colt promises superb reliability and potentially very long service. Mitsubishi has always made tough engines, and the build quality of the bodies usually matches up. The interior is rather low-rent, however, and may not wear well. As a secondhand buy, there are plenty of low-mileage, well-maintained examples around, though some Colts have now fallen into the hands of the boy racers, tweakers and tuners - buy a modified Colt with extreme caution.
