Surprisingly given all that extra power, the Black Series SL actually uses 5% less fuel than the normal SL65 AMG and a combined consumption figure of 19.6mpg is actually quite creditable for such a large and heavy car. Mercedes is quoting no figure for CO2 emissions, though we can say with some safety that it will qualify for a Band G £400 tax disc.
