Truly colossal power, Gotham City looks, very refined
Stiff ride, unresolved handling, a touch pricey
Objectively impressive, but too flawed to carry its price tag with confidence

This may be a highly specialised weapon, but first and foremost it is also a Mercedes-Benz and, as such, will have been required to pass the same durability tests as the most humble A-class. In addition to this, although the engine has huge power, for a twin turbo 6-litre motor, it's actually not in that high a state of tune: a standard Subaru Impreza STi is just one of many examples of rather more humdrum cars whose engines are required to produce more horsepower per litre than this. In short we don't doubt the SL's long-term durability.
Less easy to understand is Mercedes' decision to leave the interior of the car all but unchanged from that of a standard SL63 costing almost £150,000 less. The cabin is of acceptable quality for a car costing £100,000 but when you're asking a cool quarter of a million, your customers could quite reasonably expect the inside to look as special as the outside and, bluntly, it doesn't.
