This is a very fast car, but it doesn't always feel that way as you're so insulated from the outside world
Not only is the CL-Class superbly strong and rigid, it is now even cleverer and can sense when it is going to crash - feedback from the ESP and brake sensors sets off preparatory pre-tensioning of the seat belts, preparation for deployment of the airbags, closing of the sunroof and positioning of the seats to offer occupants the maximum restraint and protection. There are also new rollover sensors for the window airbags. Standard safety kit also includes front and side airbags for front-seat occupants, side airbags for rear-seat passengers and windowbags and anti-skid reduction (ASR); security measures include a high-spec alarm and immobiliser and locking wheel bolts.
