Mercedes Benz M-Class (1998-2001) Review

Category: Large 4x4s 1.5 out of 5

Summary of the Mercedes Benz M-Class (1998-2001)

Price Range: £30,280 to £75,823

Assets

Good level of standard equipment, plenty of interior space, quite good road manners.

Drawbacks

Poor-quality interior, not very capable off-road.

Verdict

Not so much an off-roader as a big, prestigious, 4wd estate.

Mercedes E-Class Coupe Review

Overview1.5 out of 5

The M-Class represents Mercedes' attempt at knocking the Range Rover off top spot in the prestigious luxury 4x4 class. It's not ideal for mud-plugging (though it's not bad) but makes up for it by being well behaved on the road. Surprisingly for a Mercedes, the quality of the build and interior are not strong points of the US-built M-Class. Even so, the model is a huge success.
