The E63 has very high safety levels, incorporating the latest technology introduced on the high-end S-Class. There are three stages of ESP and traction control, a drowsiness detection system, seat belt pre-tensioners, blindspot monitors, lane-keeping assist, a night vision camera and an emergency braking system that operates automatically if it detects a collision.
With so many gizmos, you occasionally find a buzz or alarm going off unnecessarily, which can be irritating, but otherwise it's an impressive array of safety technology. There are also seven airbags.
