The E55 AMG has a very firm ride, but the seats are so well-upholstered (better than in the standard car) that this compensates for most of the jolting. An adaptive damping system (ADS) is optional ( The estate is utterly massive, all its seats fold flat and if it has to, it will work as a proper stuff-shifter. Itinerant antiques dealers and car boot-salers will love this car in 20 years' time. The boot on the saloon isn't the largest around, but it's more than adequate. Space for occupants is extremely generous in all directions. Standard kit includes an M-B 'Audio 10' radio/cassette with six speakers and a six-CD autochanger - unfortunately, this is mounted in the boot, but a dash-mounted CD slot is a no-cost option in lieu of the cassette deck.
